"GE GFWS1500DWW 4.1 Cu. Ft. White Stackable With Steam Cycle Front Load Washer" User Testimonial

Got this washer for $806 from sears with a sale and a coupon for $50 off, original price is $1,000.

The wash times are a lot longer than I'm used to. I've done 4 loads since I got it today, each an 1+ hour long. Clothes come out very clean however. My whites look pretty much new like they are from the store. I have my washer on concrete in the basement and the vibration is still enough to feel the rattling on the top floor during the high spins. The spin is also loud, not something you will want to hear at night.

The sanitize function can take as long as 3 hours to finish. I used it with steam on a jacket. - By Amazon Shopper

I had this washer for four years, when I sold my house and my husband convinced me it would be easier to sell it with the house since we didn't know if the place we were moving would have gas or electric options. I agreed and reluctantly included them in our escrow deal. The washer and dryer duo were amazing. I could wash anything from comforters, dog beds, and bad stains after a little pre-treatment and they were like new. I was thankful to not get a front load washer because I am always one to add something to the wash while it's going and I never feared the leaking seals on the front load either. Great product and I like GE.

We just put an offer in on a house and I am again looking to purchase the washer and dryer. I would highly recommend to anyone with big families, pets, or OCD people who like to see "clean". - By Ryan

"GE GFWH1200DWW 3.6 Cu. Ft. White Stackable Front Load Washer - Energy Star" User Testimonial

We wanted a front-loading washer because we like the performance of the front-loader in our previous house, and we like the feeling of using less water and getting cleaner clothes in the bargain.

First Impressions

I am impressed! This washing machine has a lot of button and lights and at first glance one can be intimidated by the controls. However, the "GE GFWH1200DWW" makes most of the selections for you depending on what setting you chose via the rotary dial which includes the following selection: Whites, Colors, Sanitize, Delicates, Speed Wash, Drain + Spin, and Basket Clean. There are push button controls for "Soil, Spin and Temp" with a wide range of selection, however these are made for you automatically depending on your rotary dial choice.

You are free to change them of course, but I have found that letting the washer chose the setting for me tends to work best. So controls that once looked intimidating aren't and washing a load is just a dial setting away.

GE recommends using only High Efficiency (HE) detergent with the GE GFWH1200DWW and we settled on Tide because it tends to get our cloths cleaner. The detergent dispenser is situated on the left hand side of the washer and has a compartment for detergent, fabric softener, and bleach. The compartment is removable and good thing since the fabric softener compartment tends to fill with water after each wash and needs to be emptied.

The GE GFWH1200DWW is fairly quite though you know when the door is being locked or unlocked. Speaking of which, the washer can be paused during the wash cycle to permit to adding of additional cloths; the start button is actually a Start/Pause button. - By Vincent E. Martin

"GE GTWS8650DWS 5.0 Cu. Ft. White" User Testimonial

I bought this about 4 months ago. For the most part it is a terrific machine. My only complaints are that if anyone leaves coins or small thin objects in their pockets, they get caught in the bottom of the machine under the bottom plate. You can hear the grinding noise as the machine agitates! Luckily my husband is handy and can take the plate apart to get the coins out. We have to do this frequently which annoys me considering the money spent on this!! What if my husband wasn't handy.. would I have to pay ridiculous amounts of money to have a repair man come out and service the machine?? the basket also started making a grinding noise after 4 months too!

I love all the features of this machine that is why I gave it 4 stars but am not happy about the poor design of the bottom of the washer and the noises after such a short time. - By maryjane
